Feet In Motion 1KM Fun run and 5KM Run

Today I Participated and spectated in the Feet in Motion family run day today at the Georgetown, Ontario (Halton Hills) Gellert Center.  It was a great day, the weather was perfect and there was a lot of participation from people just looking for exercise and from people who run competitively.  The morning started out with a 1 KM fun run for the kids and parents.  I had two little ones in the event and we had a blast.  The part that was really great was that at the end of the race everyone was cheering and it made the kids feel really special.  There was a participation medal for all the kids that finished the race and some ice cream and a beverage.    Once all of the younger competitors has finished the race for the 5KM began and it was great to see all the different people who participated in the event with the winner completing the race in just over 16 minutes. 

After the races many of the families walked over to the playgrounds and splash pad that was open.   It truly was a great day as there was another event going on for Sick kids, and the regular Sunday morning slow pitch baseball league was in full swing.  The event is a great way to get some family exercise and also for new Georgetown residents who have just purchased a home or are thinking of a real estate move to Halton Hills, because it is an excellent event to meet people and or just to see the great neighbourhood spirit and participation, because it is very relaxed and kid oriented.   I am really looking forward to next year's event and I might even run the 5KM run myself.
